COLOUR POP COSMETICS SUPER SHOCK SHADOWS REVIEW x SWATCHES

What enormous rock have I been living under? Nothing excites me more than finding new products to play with. Just a few weeks ago I heard word about a brand called ColourPop Cosmetics. Intrigued, I got on their website and immediately fell in love with what I saw. It was definitely one of those 'OMG I have to have one of everything!' type of moments that I know we are all very familiar with. Yes, even you! ;) At only $5 an eye shadow I just knew I couldn't resist. That's right, you read that correctly, FIVE bucks!

ColourPop is a California based company and they are absolutely adorable. Have you seen their posts on Instagram yet? Cruelty-free and uber fabulous, they've just become one of my favorite brands on earth.

I picked up 9 shades out of the 50+ they have to offer. With a brand this fun I gravitated more toward the bold shades. Such a daredevil I am, I know! The texture of these eye shadows is definitely different. They have an almost wet, mousse-like feel to them but are so easy to work with. In my opinion, using your very own phalanges (girl use those fingers!) is the best way to get the most out of the pigment and let me just say these things are PIGMENTED! I couldn't believe it myself, I might've even done a happy dance. A synthetic brush would also work out with these gorgeous shadows. All of the shades I picked up have a shimmery/glittery finish, but don't be fooled, that glitter stays on your lids just how its supposed to. For myself, they wore throughout the day flawlessly without a primer, but don't be afraid to pair these with your favorite one. Let us all be friends here! ColourPop now has a special place in my heart and if you haven't checked them out yet, you absolutely need to. After you check out these swatches, though!

 

The packaging is sleek and white which is a nice change from typical black packaging we find in most brands. They have a screw off lid which keeps the shadows from drying out, so be sure to secure that lid! Each super shock shadow contains 0.07oz.
